About

Nathan Buchanan
grew up in the botanical wonder that is Blue Ridge Mountains. His Mitchell County family grew Fraser fir, native azalea, and rhododendron as a way to make extra income. This work, combined with other landscape and retail nursery work of his formative years, created Nathan's initial passion for the flora of the Southern Appalachians. It's hard to be from the mountains and not love the forest. Nathan loves native plants for their beauty, resilience, and ecological function.
